Life was a lot easier when the biggest decision we had to make was what we were going to select in the lunch line back in grade school. Really, our entire lives have been an endless spool of big decision after even bigger decision. Which college to attend? Which major to choose? What in the world kind of job can I get now? Etc.
There really should have been a course in high school called ‘what to do after the big life decisions you’ve made failed‘, or ‘what sort of Master Splinter type is supposed to tell me I’ve made the right choice‘. Truth is, we have absolutely no idea whether the big decisions we’ve made are for the best or the worst. Yea, yea that trust your gut kind of stuff plays a role, but we can’t know for sure until the moment has passed. Kind of like The Bachelor, when that one dude chose the wrong girl in the end, only to dump her on national tv, and go on to pick up the weeping remains that was the runner-up.
Ah, I digress. Eh, looks like we should just suck it up and deal with what we’ve got. Technically, we only have ourselves to blame. Wax on, wax off.
