When you’re an ‘adult’ you start to care more about things like the weather, especially the winter weather. Long gone are the days of waking up to a snow day for school, or putting on all of your cold weather gear to play outside all day. No, now we have more important things to worry about.
Like, the apartment that we can actually afford not having a garage to put our car in. Or, shoveling the driveway to get said car out so that we can get to work on time. Not to mention the fact that shoveling in your mid-twenties makes your body feel like you’ve been hit by a bus. And that ache lingers for days. Daysss.
Heat becomes a luxury not afforded to us. You may end up spending more time at the bar because it’s heated than at your own house. That one may be a positive rather than a negative, but regardless, we need the heat. If you’re still a kid at heart, and you do want a snow day, you could technically take it, but it would probably be an unpaid vacation day at work.
Times have changed. The weather hasn’t. What’s that saying…adapt or die? Truth.
